13 Things you would experience while getting Admission in a College

While college life is the best phase of one’s youth and it passes like a breeze but getting through the burning labyrinth of complex procedures can be quite a back breaker, there can be no metaphorical equivalent of the atrocities that one has to go through while completing the procedure of getting admitted into a college. I am not trying to scare the college aspirants but yes, be petrified, not scared.

1. It starts with a mile long queue leading to a multi-counter window with a hunger for happiness.

2. Then it might happen that till your turn is up they might shut the window on your face. Ladies and gentlemen, meet your new enemy in grown up life – Lunch Time.

3. You’ll now realize the importance of golawallahs and lemon soda makers and parantha on wheels.

4. You’ll enter the canteen in this course and whine about almost everything on the menu. Don’t worry you’ll soon find yourself spending a major part of your day here.

5. Post lunch, you’ll meet the burping office runt you’ll hate for the rest of your college life.

6. He’ll most probably tell you to run to the “Xerox Center” to get extra copies of your documents.

7. You’ll enter probably the most important place in the college in terms of academics, more important than a library, the “Xerox Center”, embrace it, because during the time period of examinations it turns into a shrine.

8. Then you’ll have to wait for countless hours as your documents get verified.

9. 3 out of 4 people on the admission council would have a problem with your “records”.

10. You’ll have to carry 500 passport size photographs and would have to sign scores of documents.

11. When you are all juiced out and given hope on life you’ll be awarded with an admission slip.

12. Your parents shall not be happy while they pay your fee (unless it’s a government college, where they take you to an expensive restaurant after the day is over.)

13. But you’ll realize the meaning of “sweets are the fruits of adversity” in the end where you go home with a thousand dreams and a wide smile on your face.
